Waters Corporation Announces the Reorganization of Corporate Operating Structure

MILFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2002--Waters Corporation (NYSE:WAT) today announced that it will reorganize into three divisions: Waters, Micromass, and TA Instruments. The Waters Division will now fully integrate chromatography research and development, manufacturing, and sales and marketing.

John Nelson has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of Waters Corporation. The three operating divisions will report to Mr. Nelson. Mr. Nelson has been with Waters for over 25 years. He has served as Senior Vice President at Waters since 1994 and has been responsible for Micromass Ltd, TA Instruments and R&D.

In conjunction with this restructuring, Arthur Caputo has been promoted to President of the newly formed Waters Division. Mr. Caputo joined Waters Corporation in 1977. He has been Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing since 1994.

Waters Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Douglas A. Waters Corporation holds worldwide leading positions in three complementary analytical technologies - high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), mass spectrometry (MS), and thermal analysis (TA). These account for $4.2 billion of the overall $19 billion analytical instrumentation market.
